Signup Questions

How do I become a member?

Simply proceed to the register page. You can start sending free sms as soon as you are registered. Start now!

Why is sending SMS free?

Part of your SMSFun membership is that sending of free sms is included. There is no reason why you should be paying 25cents+ to send a text message. If you are, you need to be using SMSFun ;) We're here to save you a few bucks and have some fun! Sms fun that is!

What is Free SMS?

Free SMS is our member only gateway system that lets you send SMS to friends and family. While sending SMS is free, your membership plan however may not. For clarification on your membership, contact our support team or read the register pages before joining.

What are the catches/is Smsfun free?

Smsfun runs many competitons and promotions and every membership option may be different. If you are not yet a member of SmSfun, then simply read the text on the registration page for clarification on what terms you are signing up on. If you are already a member and you joined prior to December 21, 2007 then these terms may not be applicable to your account. For more information on this click here.

Are there Daily Limits?

Basic accounts currently enjoy 10 free sms per day. You will be able to send 10 free sms/day instantly upon signing! Score!

Other features like fool your friends and secret crushes have their own limits which change often so it is best to check your account for detailed information.

What are Joobz Daily Limits?

Once your daily free sms limits have been reached, your Joobz balance kicks in and each SMS you send will cost you 1 Joobz. The limit on the ability to send additional SMS using your Joobz is dependant on your account type. You can send up to 50% extra on your account type in Joobz, per day. For example - if you can send 10 sms/day, your Joobz limit is 5/day extra.

I haven't received my activation code yet!

Activation codes can sometimes take up to 24 hours to be delivered to your phone but usually arrive within seconds. If you have not yet received your activation code and it has been over 12 hours you can use our automated resending form.

I didn't get to set a password when signing up!

If for some reason you were unable to complete the registration process and didn't set a password, trying going back to www.SMSFun.com.au/confirm.php and enter your confirmation code again.

Profile Questions

How do I change my password?

You can change your password by logging into your account, and then clicking on the 'my account' button in the left menu. The menu will expand and you can then choose the "Edit Profile" link. You will then be displayed with 3 tabs. Click the third tab (Basic Account Data). You can change your password there

How do I add pictures to my profile?

You can either upload pictures from your account which is very easy or you can send your picture via MMS to 0412 449 665 and it will go into your profile instantly.

How do I upload a picture from my phone?

Add the number 0413 449 665 to your mobile phone contact list and save it as SMSFUN. Take a picture with your camera phone and send it as a multimedia message (MMS) to the new SMSFUN contact you created. You will receive a SMS confirmation when it has been added to your profile.

How do I stop people from sms'ing me via my profile?

You can select the maximum amount of SMS you are willing to receive from other people in your SMS alerts page. Keep in mind you are never charged to receive any of these SMS and the other members never see your mobile number.

How do I become a featured member? and does it cost anything?

Featured members get exposure on many pages throughout the SMSFun website. To get your profile listed in lights as a featured member, simply SMS your username to 19 767 386. There is a once off fee of $2 charged to your mobile statement for this.

How do I vote via SMS and does it cost anything?

To vote for your favourite profile via sms, simply SMS VOTE ## (## being the number of the unique profile you wish to vote for) to 19 767 386. There is a $2 charge per vote and you can vote up to 10 times per day via SMS.

What prizes does one receive if they win the Top Rate guy/girl?

Each month SMSFun will release a new prize pool for the top rated girl/guy. This list can be found on the rankings page 1 week before the beginning of the new month. Some cool stuff we've given away include Ipods' and Nintendo Wii's.

SMS Messaging

Setting up Mobile Phone Reminders

You can set up a new SMS reminder by logging in to your account, clicking on SMS reminders and entering in the mobile number, date, time and message you wish to be sent at that moment.

Cost of Phone Reminders

SMSFun.com.au does not charge for reminders. You can line up as many reminders as you like. Did we mention that it's free to add reminders?

What are 'Joobz'?

Joobz is the virtual currency of SMSFun. You can use Joobz for many things. More Information Here.

Do Joobz Expire?

Joobz expire if you don't log into SMSFun at least once every 6 months.

What is 'Auto Recharge'?

If you are about to exceed your daily limit you may be prompted with an offer for the auto-recharge deal. This means you can continue sending sms from SMSFun uninterrupted and unaffected by any limits already imposed. You will be able to send up to 100 sms/day on top of your limit with this feature. Every 15 messages you send will be charged to your mobile phone via premium sms at $2 up to a maximum of $12 per day. More information is also available on the upgrade page should you be prompted with this great deal.

How do I get more Joobz?

You can earn joobz many ways, a few of which are listed in the joobz section. A few ways include uploading MMS Photos from your phone, recharging your prepaid mobile using SMSFun and making donations to the community.

Important Note: You do not receive joobz for clicking banners.

You can also earn 10 Joobz by making a donation. This can be done via the donation page or by texting "donate" to 19 767 386

Are "secret" crush texts really anonymous?

The person you send the crush to won't be able to immediately identify you as the sender. You will be able to monitor their reactions/thoughts on the message through your account.

What are "Fool Your Friend" messages?

One of our newest creations! You can specify the "from" field in a SMS to trick your friends. To them the SMS will appear to come from this person. For example they might receive a message from "girlfriend" telling them to call!

Account Info / Other

How do I add/edit a number in my phonebook

You can modify your phonebook by visiting the MyPhonebook page. A link to this page is located under the "My Account" link in the main left menu.

Privacy, No SPAM and Security Policies

We will not share nor sell your personally identifiable information with/to any third party. We take every precaution to protect your information both online and off-line via encryption software and other security practices. We log message statistics for internal information only. Fool Fun sms messages are logged for user protection. You can view out Privacy Policy at any time.

Can I have more than 1 account?

You may not have more than one account, even under other mobile numbers. Smsfun actively scours accounts to find this type of activity and can and will suspend all accounts involved. Please help keep the community fair for everyone by only having one account.
